A Stab At Heaven x Cannes 2024: with director Mark de Paola and star Ema McKie

Last month marked the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival. The festival once again gathered every notable industry filmmaker, distributor, press outlet, and figure in the iconic seaside town in Cote D'Azur for an epic two weeks celebrating the art of cinema. Highlighted films included Megalopolis by Francis Ford Coppola, Anora by Sean Baker, Parthenope by Paolo Sorrentino, and Emilia Pérez by Jacques Audiard. Mark de Paola and Ema McKie were proud to attend having just finished their feature A Stab At Heaven. The film chronicles Ema's true story about when she was eighteen years old. After hearing the news of her fiance's passing, she steals a car and a gun to travel across the country and join him in death. With the film now complete, Ema and Mark were immersed in an extensive schedule of shooting, meetings, and press in Cannes as A Stab At Heaven began its journey in finding the right distribution partners to honor the film's incredibly dynamic aesthetic.
